Most Dimensionally Stable PTFE-Based Product

Fluorosint's® unique properties are the result of a propietary processin which synthetically manufactured mica is chemically linked to PTFE. This bonding results in properties not normally attainable in reinforced PTFE. It has a continuous use temperature to 500°F (260°C). When compared to PTFE is has a higher load carrying capability and a lower coefficient of thermal expansion. Fluorosint® is available in two basic formulations with the different in composition being the fill level of the synthetic mica filler to enhance different characteristics such as resistance to deformation under load, and dimensional stability and creep resistance.

Fluorosint® PTFE 500

Fluorosint® 500 is the structural/seal grade. The snythetic mica filled level of this PTFE creates a very low coefficient of thermal expansion (approximately 1/7 or 15% of unmodified PTFE). This virtually eliminated fit and clearance problems.

Fluorosint® PTFE 207

Fluorosint® 207 is the FDA bearing grade. This propietary filled PTFE material uses the same synthetic mica filler as Fluorosint® 500, but at a lower fill level. The result is a material that is more ductile than the 500, but has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion. Fluorosint® 207 is FDA compliant
